Haze-y day

Assalamualaikum, annyeong~

Probably most have known, Malaysia and Singapore are going through the haze season. But at a whole new level. Today was my first day of school, yes a Tuesday because we had to close school yesterday for safety precautions. But to no prevail, we were evacuated out early from school today because of the air pollutant index (API) that reached 300 ! We didn't learn much too. Just had a prep talk on how to tackle our add maths folio and did revision for add maths and physics. I was back at home by 12 afternoon.

The surrounding changes was really drastic. I was at school by 7 am and it looked like a bearable day with a tinge of haze. Then by 8 am, the haze thickened but it was still okay. My eyes were stinging a bit at that time. Then by 11 am, the API shoot up to 300 and the haze just really thickened up. My eyes were really stinging and watery. Teachers at the office were panicking, telling the students to call their parents and go home.

I remembered the last time when the haze season was this bad was during my standard 3 year. It was completely glum. No sunlight, dusty view, coughing and difficulty of breathing. Those were really hard times.

But alhamdulillah, the Malaysian government is trying hard to handle this situation by discussing ways to reduce the haze and setting health precautions for the people. As for myself, I'm doing my best not to catch my long gone asthma back. And I need to buy myself a face mask. Those face mask and air purifier are selling like hot pisang goreng here (well, hot pancakes don't sell fast in Malaysia haha).

Please do pray for this haze to be gone so that we can enjoy back the fresh air and clear view. Thank you for your concerns and may Allah bless you !
